FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answer all of your questions

(i)   Second Division or Grade “C” Bachelor’s degree in any faculty of one of the Pakistani Universities or an equivalent degree or comparable educational qualifications of a foreign University recognized by Higher Education Commission, Islamabad.

Note:  A candidate who has obtained a Third Division (or `D’ grade) in his/her Bachelor’s Degree will be eligible for the Examination in cases where he/she has obtained a higher Division in Master’s Degree.

As per rules age limit for CSS Examination is 21 to 30 years. Upper age limit will be same as 30 years and cut-off date for age calculation will be 31.12.current year.

Upper age limit may be relaxed by two years in categories specified in ibid rules, subject to fulfillment of all requirements :

(a)  the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Buddhist Community subject to production of a certificate (Annex-A of Application Form) to be issued by Political Agent/DCO/ District Magistrate in support of their claim.

(b)  The candidates belonging to the recognized Tribes who are permanent residents of the areas mentioned-below and whose families have been living in these areas. Such candidates must attach a certificate (Annex-B of Application Form) to be issued by Political Agent/ DCO/District Magistrate in support of their claim:

1.      Balochistan.

2.      Tribal Areas of D.I.Khan and Peshawar Divisions (including former Frontier States of Dir, Swat, Chitral and Amb).

3.      Former excluded (Baluch) area forming part of the Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur Districts.

4.      Former Tribal Areas of Mardan and Hazara Divisions.

5.      Upper Tanawal Area of Hazara Division

(c)   The candidates who are permanent residents of Azad Kashmir Territory, subject to submission of a certificate (Annex-C of Application Form) to be issued by Kashmir Affairs Division, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad.

(d)  The candidates who are permanent residents of Gilgit – Baltistan including Gilgit, Diamir, Baltistan, Ghizar and Ghanche, subject to submission of a certificate (Annex-B of Application Form) to be issued by the Political Agent/DCO/ District Magistrate.

The cut-off date for determining the eligibility of the candidate in terms of age, qualifications, domicile, etc., is usually 31st December, of the preceding year.

Fee of written examination is Rs.2200/-

Following are some basic reasons of rejections

· Underaged /Overaged.

· TR not paid.

· Application received late after closing date.

· Applied on wrong application form.

· Educationally unqualified.

· Application unsigned.

· Already availed 3 attempts.

   1. A candidate who fails to secure at least 40% marks in any of the compulsory subjects, 33% marks in any of the optional subjects, 50% marks in the Aggregate is considered to have failed in written examination and will not be eligible for medical examination, Psychological Assessment and Viva Voce.

2. Only the candidates declared qualified for written examination and found eligible is called for next stage i.e. Medical Examination, Psychological Assessment and Viva Voce

FPSC advertises jobs on the first Sunday of each month.

As per decision of the Commission 15 days time is given to the candidates to apply against any post advertised by the Commission, for which they qualify.

Application fee is Rs.300/- for BS-16 and 17, Rs.750/- for BS-18,Rs.1200/- for BS-19 and Rs.1500/- for BS-20 and above posts.

No change in the data can be made online by the applicant themselves after they submit application online, as already mentioned in guidelines for applying online. The candidate may send his request duly signed alongwith a copy of his CNIC addressed to the Secretary, FPSC for any correction, after applying online.

The confirmation of submission of online is instantly given online to candidate with a specific application number, called Tracking Number, upon completion of online application process.

The candidates are required to submit the hardcopy of online application form and other documents only in response to FPSC notice.

Dual nationality holders can apply against the posts advertised by the Commission, however, they will have to surrender their foreign nationality and inform the Govt. before joining Government Service

Syllabus for written test can be downloaded from FPSC website www.fpsc.gov.pk.

The clear link for printing of admission certificate is provided on FPSC website upon scheduling of the exam. The candidate can get their admission certificate printed by simply providing their CNIC No and selecting the post applied for from the relevant box available on the screen. It is however to be noted that immediately after completion of the General Recruitment Phase, the provision of generation/ printing of admission certificate is revoked.

It is mandatory for the candidates to produce original CNIC, original Treasury Receipt of fee payment for the post applied for ,and downloaded copy of Admission Certificate, to the Supervisory Staff of the FPSC at the time of Screening / Written Test. Candidates, having any of these documents deficient, are not permitted to appear in the test in any case. Candidates are also required to bring blue/black maker to be used in the written test / examination.

Bringing of Mobile Telephones/Likewise devices, books, purses, Arms Ammunitions, Explosive Material etc. in the Examination Hall, is strictly prohibited. FPSC is not responsible for their Security or Loss.
